The Textile of the Lord from Lefkandi
Out of the world of museum storerooms comes this impressive collection of ancient textiles hosted at the National Archaeological Museum under its Unseen Museum initiative. Items that were once part of a burial offering of a ruler of Lefkandi on the island of Evia, come to light in excellent condition: rare weaved works and clothing and various valuable gifts from the Dark Ages (11th – 9th century B.C.). Also, on selected dates, conservators of the Museum and archaeologists welcome visitors to talk about the Dark Ages of Greece and the importance of their Lefkandi findings.
