This is Athens - City Festival is back for its third edition this May with free admission*. The biggest annual spring festival in the Greek capital will take place throughout May and will even be stealing a few days from June. You see, this year's programme proved to be so packed, we couldn't possibly squeeze it into just 31 days. Thoroughly designed with a sustainable mindset, the festival’s rich agenda includes more than 250 events that will take place all over Athens in more diverse areas than ever before. Grab a seat at the country's biggest open-air buffet. The Athens Street Food Festival returns for its 7th year at the old OSY Train Depot in Gazi. Be prepared for sizzling souvlaki, perfectly wrapped gyros, crispy spanakopita and freshly fried syrupy loukoumades. But these are just some of the local delicacies. Athens' extraordinary street food scene has some amazing pizza parlours as well as Asian and Middle Eastern restaurants that will also be taking part. As always, there will be plenty of mouth-watering vegetarian delights to make even the most hardened carnivore drool. Add live music concerts and DJ sets to the mix and you've got one of the most fulfilling May experiences in Athens.
