This is Athens - City Festival is back for its third edition this May with free admission*. The biggest annual spring festival in the Greek capital will take place throughout May and will even be stealing a few days from June. You see, this year's programme proved to be so packed, we couldn't possibly squeeze it into just 31 days. Thoroughly designed with a sustainable mindset, the festival’s rich agenda includes more than 250 events that will take place all over Athens in more diverse areas than ever before. If you're into gamifying your travel experiences, then this one's for you. Athens-based tech startup Narratologies has a variety of digital adventures planned for both visitors and locals. Just download their app (Android / iOS) and you're ready for a mythical time in Athens.
They offer some amazing guided and self-guided tours. The following are up for grabs at this year's TiACF24:
- Street Art Treasure Hunt (10 & 17 & 24/05, meeting point: Omonia Square, 6pm): Explore Athens' rich and diverse street art scene.
- National Garden Treasure Hunt (12 & 19 & 26/05, meeting point: Syntagma Square, Central Fountain, 11am): Help Queen Amalia save her beloved conservatory.
- Battle of the Gods (11 & 18 & 25/05, meeting point: Hadrian's Arch, 6pm): Join goddess Athena in defeating god Poseidon and claim Athens for yourselves!
* Most events are free entrance and require no tickets, to the exception of some concerts that have a priced ticket, and some events that are free entrance but require pre-registration or are invitation-only.
