Wanderlust / All Passports
Curator Kostas Prapoglou invites 44 contemporary artists to the iconic Schliemann-Mela Mansion to present site-specific works, creating spatial installations, video art, sculptures, and paintings through their visual and multimedia vocabulary. The mansion, a significant landmark in the heart of Athens, was designed by architect Ernst Ziller and is deeply intertwined with the city's identity. Until recently, it housed one of the last arthouse cinemas in central Athens and is now awaiting refurbishment, set to be transformed into a hotel in its latest incarnation. The exhibition invites artists to explore concepts of space and time, focusing on visions of the future. Kostas Prapoglou, known for curating successful group shows in unconventional spaces, draws on his studies in archaeology and architecture, which will once again provide the foundation for his latest curatorial effort in this special venue.
