World Press Photo Exhibition
They’re the pictures that stay with us long after the headlines fade from focus. Since 1955, the World Press Photo Exhibition has been shining the spotlight each year on those incendiary images that move the world, fuel news agendas and spark conversations. For the first time this year, Athens will kick off the prestigious global exhibition that showcases the 157 winning images of 2018, awarded to 43 photographers from 25 countries. Firmly in the frame are the two major winners of World Press Photo of the Year: John Moore with his “Crying Girl on the Border” and Pieter Ten Hoopen with his work “Migrant Caravan”. It's a great excuse to check out Greece's new state of the art National Library, the creation of Renzo Piano, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.
