WOW Athens 2025
Over the past decade, the WOW – Women of the World movement has expanded from its London roots to cities around the globe. In Athens, it returns with a powerful lineup of discussions, workshops, performances, and installations across the SNFCC.
This year’s programme includes panel talks on urgent social issues, mentoring sessions, DJ sets, concerts, and the WOW Marketplace—a vibrant space spotlighting women’s entrepreneurship and activism. The SNFCC will once again be transformed into a stage for gender equality.
Guest speakers include bold voices like Roxane Gay (Bad Feminist), award-winning writer Carmen Maria Machado, and Thalia Mavros, producer of The Principles of Pleasure. Two thought-provoking films explore gender identity and social justice: Orlando, My Political Biography by queer philosopher Paul B. Preciado, and RBG, the acclaimed documentary on Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
On the music front, Grammy-winning Pakistani artist Arooj Aftab headlines the festival with her boundary-pushing sound that weaves Persian traditions into jazz and electronica.
Art takes over multiple SNFCC venues, with standout exhibitions including Claudia Wieser’s geometric sculptures, Marilena Grispou’s portraits on women’s safety, and Georgia Lale’s tribute to victims of femicide.
