It's been a crazy ride for Technopolis over the past 20 years. It was 1999 when the Municipality took over the former grounds of the city's gasworks and decided to turn it into a cultural landmark. Today it's Athens' second most visited venue after the Acropolis, welcoming over 1.000.000 visitors a year. Apart from hosting all sorts of festivals Technopolis is also home to INNOVATHENS, an entrepreneurial hub that welcomes and encourages innovative and extroverted business and practices in Athens.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary—and the beginning of summer season—Technopolis has announced a rich programme of music festivities up until September 2019, many of which with free admission to the public. There's the Athens Jazz Festival with free admission, the exciting Plisskën Festival, the highly anticipated performance of Omara Portuondo, the first edition of the rock-oriented Urban Athens Festival, Drop Festival for the hip-hop crowd, the crowd favourite Full Moon Fiesta, Djangofest for a dose of gypsy swing and many more performances from Greek and international artists that you can take your pick from.
