Areez Katki’s Exhibition "Uncruising"

New Zealand artist Areez Katki's second solo exhibition after a 10-month residency in India is ambitious. The mixed-media works, mostly tapestry needlecraft overlaid on images and objects, explore various stories of homointimacy. These stories are intended to bring Katki's non-European queer gaze to themes of decolonisation and the expression of queer trauma.
