Athens Open Air Film Festival 2019
We hope you like popcorn. The Athens Open Air Film Festival is here again—and trust us, there are a lot of movies you’re going to want to see. A crowd favourite and for good reason, AOAFF transforms Athens into one big (and free) open-air cinema all summer long. Timeless classics, indie gems and blockbusters are screened under the starry Athenian sky at iconic landmarks such as museums, squares, gardens, and archaeological parks. This year’s line-up is as fantastic as ever, with a wider spread of venues. Choose from one of Fellini’s great final works Amarcord at the Roman Agora; David Lynch’s Lost Highway on romantic Lycabettus Hill; Mike Leigh’s nocturnal London odyssey Naked in Abyssinia Square in Monastiraki (where antique merchants lay claim during the day). Or treat yourself to some vintage Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights in Petralona Park. And that's just for starters. Check the website for the full 2019 programme in English.
