The Galaxy of Theodorakis
Since September 2, the galaxy of Greek music has been one supanova down. Mikis Theodorakis – the decorated composer (Zorbas, Serpico) and political figure - died at the age of 96. This sad milestone has a silver lining. It has granted the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) the perfect moment to wheel out Theodorakis highlights from its extensive Music Library, in a quest to illuminate the diverse oeuvre of this beloved icon. For the last 24 years of his life, the composer entrusted the Megaron's library of The Friends of Music Society with his complete archive. Until the end of October, you can immerse yourself in all things Theodorakis at this free foyer exhibition that pays tribute to a cultural legend.
