Elpis - A Hopeful Ode to the Human Condition and the Power of the Hand
What is hope? Is it the noble driving force behind our actions or is it just the carrot on the stick that drives humanity forward? Or is it like poetess Emily Dickinson said, “Hope is the thing with feathers… that never stops at all”? Eλπἰς (Elpis) - A Hopeful Ode to the Human Condition and the Power of the Hand is a group show opening at KYAN Project Space, on the special occasion of the first anniversary of this artist-run project space. Ten artists, amongst whom painters, sculptors and potters, draw inspiration from philosophical and theological sources and join forces under the notion of hope. Think Einstein notes on technology and society meet Marcus Aurelius’s Meditations. The exhibition is housed within the salon of a 1938 Athenian town house, in the neighbourhood of Exarcheia.
