Athens Irish Festival 2023

If you're a fan of the captivating culture of the Emerald Isle, you're in for a treat. The second edition of Athens Irish Festival is “bigger, greener, and merrier”, taking over Lambidona Park for three days and filling it with music, dancing, crafter stalls, and of course, food and drinks. Expect a programme packed with storytelling sessions where faes and leprechauns come alive, bilingual poetry workshops on limericks, and amazing bands from Ireland and Greece, including the oldest Celtic music band in Greece, Iernis. There’s also going to be a screening of the documentary The Laughing Boy by Alan Gilsenan, which explores the history of an Irish song that became an anthem of resistance during Greece's dictatorship. Time for a shindig!
