New Thesmophoria - Attica Gaia Festival

The Thesmophoria, an ancient Greek festival honouring the development of agriculture in the 5th century BC laid the foundation for both Athenian society and Athenian Democracy in the 5th century BC. The New Thesmophoria - Attica Gaia Festival resumes this age-old festival, and celebrates Attica's main agricultural products: grains, olives and olive oil, grapes and wine, promising a modern fête that aims to connect its visitors with the land of Attica through music, festivities, workshops, and culinary surprises at various locations:

17/09: "Ode to the Earth": An audiovisual dance-theatre performance at the Katina Paxinou Theatre, Attiko Alsos, 9pm. Entrance is free with prior booking at https://www.ticketservices.gr/?lang=en .

Throughout the week: Educational workshops about composting, food waste, beekeeping, creating a herb garden at home, as well as activities for kids at Antonis Tritsis Park.

20/09: "Tradition and the Land of Attica”': Festivities with food and dance with the participation of various cultural associations at the Municipality of Keratsini & Drapetsona Fertilizer Multipurpose Area, a beautiful seaside park, 7 pm.

21/09: "Greek Breakfast of the Attica Land": A culinary event promoting a healthy lifestyle and local products, at Ble Pavillion, Alimos, 11 am.

23/09: "Physis Gaia Project": A music and theatre performance by popular Greek Cypriot singer Evridiki, at Pedion Areos, 7 pm.

24/09: "Attica Molecular Mixology": A unique event with live preparation of original molecular cocktails created exclusively with local products at Momix in Keramikos, 8 pm. You can try the exclusive cocktails designed for the festival throughout the week.
