2nd Sacred Music Festival

If you're looking for a soul-stirring experience amidst the ancient wonders of Athens, then mark your calendars for the 2nd Sacred Music Festival. This fantastic initiative of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Greek National Opera features more than 50 concerts across Athens and is curated by GNO's Artistic Director Giorgos Koumendakis. A brilliant excuse to get into the Easter spirit in Athens. From the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens to the gardens of the Presidential Mansion, the iconic Acropolis Museum and the charming Fethiye Mosque, each concert is free to attend. More than 500 musicians will perform a variety of works that fall under the "sacred" label; from Mozart's Requiem to mediaeval chants and modern masterpieces, all combining the earthly and the divine.
