TiACF25: Street Parties

This is Athens City Festival returns this May — bigger, bolder, and bursting into more neighbourhoods than ever before. From 1 May to 1 June, over 200 free events will take over parks, squares, rooftops and hidden corners across the capital, inviting locals and visitors alike to explore a different side of the city. There’s a reason they say it all starts on the street. This year’s This is Athens City Festival is going full throttle with outdoor energy — transforming city squares and neighbourhood corners into full-blown open-air clubs, cultural playgrounds, and urban celebrations. Expect legendary DJ sets, vinyl gems, Balkan parades, dance collectives, electronic heroes, and the most eclectic street parties Athens has ever hosted. Here are some of the highlights:

02/05: Omonia Street Party, Omonia Square: George Apergis and the internationally acclaimed Reign of Time return to Athens with global beats and electrifying rhythms, setting Omonia Square alight for the start of summer.

03/05: Full Circle presents Looking for a Crib, Zappeion: After last year’s massive turnout, Full Circle returns with Turkish duo Avangart Tabldot, promising a peak party moment at Zappeion.

04/05: E=MC², Amerikis Square: A celebration of Hip Hop and street arts with breakdancers, MCs, DJs, and beatboxers, bringing raw energy and radical openness to one of Athens’ most diverse neighbourhoods.

04/05: Santaroza Beat, Santaroza Square: A high-energy open-air party with six hours of non-stop music, featuring live performances by Billie Kark and Metaman, plus DJ sets from top local selectors — all unfolding in one of the city’s most iconic urban spots.

08/05: Agia Fanfara & DJ Spery, Monastiraki Square: A roaming 25-piece band meets Balkan vinyl magic. Agia Fanfara and DJ Spery lead a high-energy parade from Monastiraki to Thissio Square.

10/05: Street Outdoors Soundsystem, Eleftherias Park: The beloved Street Outdoors crew returns with a relaxed but vibrant street gathering of forward-thinking dance music and signature community vibes.

10/05: In the Streets We…Dance / with Egyptian Lover, Klafthmonos Square: Electro legend Egyptian Lover joins forces with Cannibal Radio and MΠΗ-ΣΑΙΝΤ for a night of West Coast energy and deep groove in the heart of Athens.

16/05: Gyzi Street Party, Gyzi Square: A homecoming for George Apergis with Reverb Sessions, transforming Gyzi Square into a pop-up electronic playground.

17/05: Yucatan, Zappeion Megaron: The Yucatan crew and Sensory Production turn the jacaranda-lined promenade of Zappeion into a visually stunning open-air dancefloor.

17/05: Athens Disco, Dragatsaniou Arcade: All-vinyl disco grooves light up one of Athens’ most atmospheric arcades. DJ Christos Kalogirou joins forces with Virgin Mary and Fotis Biz for a night of sequins, soul, and retro-futuristic moves.

22/05: EMST Rooftop Party, EMST: After a day at the museum, head to the rooftop for cocktails, panoramic views, and a golden-hour farewell to the festival.

22/05: FOR303 x Da Butterfly, Monastiraki Square: Monastiraki turns into a fearless dancefloor as FOR303 and Da Butterfly bring punchy basslines, female-led DJ sets, and a future-facing sound to the heart of the city.

24/05: Street Outdoors Block Party, Koumoundourou Square: The second Street Outdoors event takes over a lesser-known Athenian square with cutting-edge sounds and a loyal crowd that knows how to throw down.

25/05: A Musical Journey Through Time, Kodrigktonos Street: Live performances, poetry, and a vintage DJ set from Foyer d’Athènes bring old Athens to life in a street party unlike any other.

25/05: Lambrini Block Party by ENTEKA ATHENS, Agiou Andrea Square: ENTEKA Athens gathers key names from the Greek electronic scene for a huge block party in one of the city’s best-kept secrets.

31/05: SLAM, Moxy Arcade: Athens’ boldest queer party by Clubkid makes its festival debut with dazzling dancers, high-energy beats, and a fierce celebration of inclusivity.

31/05: Athens Party, Stoa Dragatsaniou: A dynamic showcase by Reverb Sessions and Athens Voice Radio. DJs from across the spectrum take over this hidden gem with funky grooves, house beats, and genre-fluid energy.

31/05: Seds x Needless x Palms Trax, Santaroza Square: Three collectives, one huge finale. Global house hero Palms Trax leads the night in a downtown takeover packed with warmth, rhythm, and vinyl magic.
