Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream
It’s Shakespeare all right. But not how you know it. In the hands of hot British director Nicholas Hytner, the Bard’s classic partner-swapping romp, set in a forest of Athens, becomes a delirious and immersive pan-sexual party where anything goes. Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie hangs in a glass cage; there are airborne bath seductions complete with bubbles and champagne; and in an intriguing role reversal, Titania and Oberon switch lines (perfectly in keeping with these gender-fluid times, we'd say). Sound like a great night out at the theatre? Catch it for yourself at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall when this well-received West End production is beamed in a live recording from London’s Bridge Theatre as part of the popular National Theatre Live series.
