Euripides Laskaridis: Elenit

A lot of mystery surrounds this performance, especially if you're unfamiliar with Euripides Laskaridis' previous productions. Director, performer and choreographer, Laskaridis founded the Osmosis Theatre Company in 2009. If we are to judge from his two major former works, "Relic" and "Titans", you're in for quite an extreme show. It's what we will call physical theatre, with video installations, charicature-like costumes (think body suits and extremely padded backsides, exaggerated noses), strobe lights, smoke machines, and heavily character-central. All his productions are something in between cabaret and vaudeville, and all of them push boundaries, test the audience's limits with a humour that borders on ridicule. 
"A space where the things we know are now left behind. "Elenit" is a tragic comedy, with characters who are touchingly real and painstakingly realised, yet unashamedly imaginary," writes the Stegi website of these characters that exist in a machine. Even if we could, we wouldn't tell you more. Go check it our for yourself. Even if it leaves you disturbed, it'll definitely be something you will remember for a lifetime. Which is what art is all about, is it not?
