Moodymann DJ Set
Athens, whaddupdoe? A question surely to be asked when Moodymann takes over the microphone on December 21 at Tres. The answer will sound like a riot and will be followed by some of the grittiest, sexiest and rawest house music that's been produced in the last 25 years. For the uninitiated, Moodymann aka Kenny Dixon Jr, is the owner of KDJ and Mahogani record labels, an avid selector in his DJ sets and a house music innovator. His non-climactic approach in his productions, the use of soul and jazz riffs and samples combined with techno's aggression, and his trademark insidious basslines have procured him a legendary status in the music industry. Expect visuals, installations, cocktails by the team behind Couleur Locale, music you can actually dance to and good vibes only. Warming up for the Detroit man of mystery are mobile party team Synthetic's Thomas Numan, Dimitri Papaioannou Kouros and MOVE Project's Locke.
