Athens Big Band: It's a Very Jazzy Christmas
Few music genres can get you in the Christmas mood like jazz. The warmth of the saxophone, the sweet melancholy of the piano and the playfulness of the bass compose the ideal soundtrack for the festive season, for loners and extroverts alike. For the past twenty years, the Athens Municipality Big Band has been serving jazz with the utmost enthusiasm and love for the genre. This Christmas season they take over the Maria Callas Theatre for a single performance along with seasoned jazz singer, Penny Baltatzi. A great chance to enjoy some of the finest instrumentalists of the country at an historic—and totally renovated—venue.
