The Museums of Illusions in Athens is the place where fun and science meet.

When was it built

The building was an inn during the 19th century. It opened as the Museum of Illusions in September 2018.

What's the story

The first Museum of Illusions opened in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015. Since then, the project has taken shape in more than 30 cities around the world. The Athens branch is housed in a 500sqm two-storey building that features more than 60 optical illusions in 15 rooms.

Why it's important

Fun is always important. Experiential entertainment is the museum’s goal. Each exhibit has something to teach its visitors about how our brains work when faced with puzzling sensory pranks. Fun comes first, followed by mind-boggling questions till science comes to the rescue.
