Wide Awake in Athens
They say you’re either a night person or a morning person. Same goes for cities. And while Athens might have nabbed more than its fair share of sunrays (sorry not sorry), our after-sundown game is next level. Maybe it’s our ‘live in the now’ ethos, our awesome (and great value) bar scene, or our sociable souls. Come decide for yourself. And for all you morning folk out there, the arrival of March means some of our most luscious landscapes will soon be on splendid show as Persephone’s spring daisies decorate our mountains and monuments.

3 Great Ways to Welcome Spring in Athens
- Celebrate the 5th birthday of Athens’ greenest landmark, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre on one of their free English tours: stroll stunning Mediterranean parklands or admire the inner-workings of Renzo Piano’s architectural genius;
- Join the locals by celebrating Greek Independence Day on March 25 with our traditional treat: bakaliaro-skordalia (battered salt cod with garlic sauce) and devour it while you watch the flag-waving parade;
- Meditate on the same hill as Socrates while you marvel at the Acropolis from a secret viewing deck on a private guided experience.
