This is Athens City Festival is Back — and Bolder Than Ever

From 1 May to 1 June, This is Athens City Festival returns to fill the city with culture, rhythm and open-air energy — transforming Athens into one big, month-long celebration.

Now in its latest (and boldest) edition, the festival dives deeper into the city’s cultural heartbeat with a vibrant mix of over 200 free events. Expect everything from street parties and contemporary dance to hands-on family activities, open-air concerts, guided walks, and creative nods to Greek tradition.

And if you think it’s all happening downtown — think again. This year brings new neighbourhoods and unexpected spots into the spotlight. It’s a celebration of the entire city, unfolding across courtyards, rooftops, parks and pavements.

The festival starts strong and wraps with a bang: a three-day closing weekend packed with events, parties and pop-up surprises all across Athens.
