Athens welcomes the 44th International Geoscience and Remote Sensing – IGARSS 2024 Symposium
Athens is hosting the 44th International Geoscience and Remote Sensing – IGARSS 2024 Symposium, which is taking place between July 7–12, at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre.
One of the most significant events of the sector, the Symposium is expected to welcome more than 2.500 delegates, including esteemed scientists and representatives of key international organizations. Held under the theme, “Acting for Sustainability and Resilience”, the Symposium aims to stimulate enlightening debates on science and innovation. Its Scientific Program focuses on the sector’s sustainable development in accordance with the goals set by the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.
Athens was selected as the host city of the Symposium in 2020, following an international bid which was run by CONVIN, the event's official PCO and a Member of This is Athens-CVB. The Greek capiltal’s nomination was also supported by the City of Athens and This is Athens-CVB.
IGARSS 2024 is hosted by the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens, the National Technical University of Athens and the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas.
