Take the temperature of Athens' red-hot art scene at Art Athina 2019, an annual contemporary art extravaganza that brings together the capital’s most influential local galleries, emerging stars and international exhibitors under one roof. For the first time, this high-profile showcase is to be hosted at historic Zappeion House, a Greek Neoclassical work of art in its own right. Channel your inner Banksy at this year’s expanded programme of free interactive workshops (you can try your hand at painting, doodle art, constructions, collage, mosaic and engraving). In another first, visitors can also attend an open-air screening of new generation video works from Greek and global artists, including exhibits from the ground breaking DESTE Foundation, at the landmark Zappeion cinema on closing night.
