The Athens leg of the festival concludes on the last day of July, while in August the action moves to Epidaurus, where eager locals pilgrimage for their annual rendezvous with Greek tragedy. Take a look at our highlights for the season and have a great AEF2024!
After taking a ten-year break from live shows, Anohni returns to the stage alongside the Johnsons and invites audiences to confront the tumultuous realities of our time with a potent message: "It’s Time to Feel What's Really Happening." Since forming the Johnsons in 1998, Anohni has fearlessly explored themes of animism and eco-feminism, traversing musical landscapes from electronic experimentation to avant-classical, dance and soul. In 2016, Anohni released her first solo album, Hopelessness, which explored themes of political activism, environmentalism and the surveillance state. Her bold experimentation with electronic music and powerful socio-political commentary earned the album critical acclaim. Her 2023 album, My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross, delves deep into social structures, spirituality and humanity's relationship with the natural world. Come to the Odeon of Herodes Atticus to be moved, challenged and perhaps even transformed by Anohni's haunting vocals and poignant lyrics.
