If you think ancient Greek drama can't get any more gripping, think again. Book your seats for a contemporary retelling of Medea by visionary Australian filmmaker Simon Stone. Known for his innovative approach to the classics, Stone has set the action of the play against the backdrop of middle-class America. There, Anna, recently released from a psychiatric hospital and hoping to reconcile with her husband Lucas, finds herself entangled in a web of turmoil and betrayal. Based on Euripides' masterpiece and inspired by a real-life tragedy that took place in Kansas in the mid-1990s, this is one of the hot tickets of the season.
