Αthens Epidaurus Festival 2022: Bost’s Medea
We can hear you saying it: “Greek tragedies are weird, man.” What’s funny is, we can do weirder. Like, Medea killing her children because they didn’t get straight As-weirder. Prolific political cartoonist and playwright Mentis Bostantzoglou (pen name Bost), delivered his humorous contemporary take on the mother of all filicides (sorry) back in 1993, and trust us, it remains fresh to this day. Talented director Yiannis Kalavrianos takes on Bost’s Medea at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus this summer with the support of The National Theatre of Greece.
With English subtitles.
