CineFIX
To indulge in open-air cinema this summer, you can join the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) as it unveils CineFIX, an enchanting rooftop cinema with panoramic views of Athens, including a stunning view of the Acropolis. Screenings will take place twice a month, every second Thursday, until early October.
The 7th screening is a tribute to Swiss director and feminist Carole Roussopoulos (1945-2009), best known for her radical, pioneering documentaries on the women’s movement in France and beyond. The film curation, crafted by artist Bouchra Khalili—whose solo exhibition Lanternists and Typographers is currently on view on the Museum's third floor—draws heavily on the work of Roussopoulos, a major reference in Khalili's art. With this film programme, Khalili and EMST aim to honour the work of a video pioneer and her significant legacy.
The screenings are in French and English, with Greek and English subtitles.
In case of rain, the screening will take place in the Museum's indoor halls.
