John Coltrane: Jazz at the Museum
In the mood for some blazing, soulful sax? The legendary riffs of the great saxophonist John Coltrane have lit the jazz flame for countless musicians, both small-time and big. They’ll live again when sleek new Pangrati art hub—the Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation—unrolls its Jazz Concert Series with a tribute concert to Coltrane by the Takis Paterelis Quartet. This highly-accomplished Greek quartet carries a torch for Coltrane. They specialise almost exclusively in the late musician’s finest oeuvre, penned during his mid-60s heyday. So if you’re a fellow Coltrane hound, you’re in great hands. Pop along a little earlier for a pre-concert aperitif or elegant bite at the museum’s terrific café.
