DIDO: Queen of Carthage
Up for a timely theatrical performance in a brand new art space in Athens? After its premiere at the Istanbul Theatre Festival and its staging at the Thessaloniki Fringe Festival, Korhan Basaran's "Dido: Queen of Carthage" lands in Theatre Nous - Creative Space, one of Athens' freshest cultural hubs. DIDO is a solo multidisciplinary gender-fluid performance by Basaran that reflects the myth of Dido, founder of Carthage, and Aeneas, hero of the Trojan war and son of Aphrodite. The Istanbul-based artist uses elements of dance, theatre, as well as music and video projections produced especially for the performance, in order to explore the themes of human desire, frustration and heartbreak that are weaved into this tragical love story.
