SNF RUN: First Run 2022
The stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve. You’ve done the countdown, Insta-storied the fireworks, and hugged your nearest and dearest to welcome in the new year. What’s your next move? Keep drinking until the early hours and begin your new year with an evil hangover? Or…
Get your 2022 off to a racing start and take part in a joyful 3km night run for charity at one of Athens’ most festive landmarks. Afterwards, you can continue to make merry at the after-party in the Agora, but you’ll wake up feeling pretty darn good about yourself. We make a good case, right?
The SNF Run: First Run at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre is a fantastic annual event for a fantastic cause. Get dressed to the nines in your seasonal sparkle; pair it with your trainers - and join in the fun of this short course route around the beautifully illuminated SNFCC. The popular event kicks off after a banging fireworks display at four minutes after midnight.
You pay whatever you want to participate (there’s a minimum proposed contribution of €5) and it will be double-matched by the SNF, tripling the amount donated to selected non-profit organisations devoted to children.
This year’s two beneficiaries will be: Iliahtida - a Parents, Guardians & Friends Association of People with Autism – and Jump Ball of Love - an innovative basketball-based program for kids with autism spectrum disorders.
