Athens Epidaurus Festival 2022: Manos Hadjidakis Tribute
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Athens State Orchesta, Greece's oldest symphonic ensemble, a very special night will take place at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus as part of this year's Athens Epidaurus Festival. Manos Hadjidakis' Gioconda's Smile and The Birds will be performed by the ASO to commemorate the life and work of the great Greek composer (who also served as the director of the ASO between 1976-1982). Double down on the significance of this one as you tune into the anti-war sentiments of Hadjidakis' post-WWII compositions.
