"Hiroshima, Mon Amour" at the B&E Goulandris Foundation
The B&E Goulandris Foundation hosts a film screening for the first time and a very special one at that. The classic romantic drama Hiroshima, Mon Amour (1959) that paved the way for the popularisation of the French New Wave, premieres its 4K restoration at the B&E Goulandris Amphitheatre. Directed by Alain Resnais and based on Marguerite Duras’ book of the same title, the film is about the short-lived but deep romance between a man from Hiroshima who lost his family in the nuclear bombing and a French actress making an anti-war film in the city. If you’re looking for more film nights at stellar locations, check out the rooftop screenings at the luxurious Hotel Grande Bretagne.
*The film is screened in French with Greek subtitles.
