Leonidas Kavakos Live at the Acropolis
Leonidas Kavakos' summer performance back in 2020 at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus was an enchanting gift to anyone who attended. We also loved how the Athens Epidaurus Festival served this concert online for New Year's Day 2021, to bid farewell to 2020's challenging year and usher in a more promising one. Now that live events have returned for good in Athens, the AEF invites us to enjoy the world-class violin skills of Kavakos at an equally stunning amphitheatre, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, where Kavakos, both as a soloist and as a conductor, will conduct a small group of six distinguished Greek musicians (two violins, one viola, one cello, one double bass, one harpsichord), presenting Bach’s Violin Concertos. One of the festival's highlights, for sure.
