Light Installations at the Stavros Niarchos Park

If fairylights and mistletoe don’t jingle your bells, the futuristic festive light spectacle at Stavros Niarchos Park is sure to. Following on from the huge popularity of previous year’s exhibits, SNFCC ushers in the 2020 Christmas season with four new interactive installations from around the world that are waiting to light up your Instagram and your spirits, as soon as lockdown lifts. Like everything else this strange year, this sensory treat has been re-jigged with social distancing in mind: a wave of your hand will be enough to light up a tower; your presence alone will activate waves of light and drama. We particularly love the sound of the MoonGARDEN on the Great Lawn, where you can wander among a dream-like theatre of glowing lunar orbs and watch shadows act out fantastical scenes in a revival of an age-old art from India and Asia. Then, there's the Parabolic Lightcloud hovering above the Dome like a miniature starry sky that you might almost reach up and touch, intended to spark an endless interplay of emotions within us, from love through to sadness (sounds like a trailer for 2020!)
