New Year's Eve at the SNFCC
We know. Making plans for NYE can be nerve-wracking, especially if you're visiting a new city. If you've chosen our parts to ring in the New Year and don't feel like planning things down to the last detail, the SNFCC has already done that for you.
New Year's Eve celebrations at the SNFCC cater for all types and ages. Visit the centre on the evening of December 31st and kick things off with festive selfies at the Light Installations around the park. Then head over to the Agora and fuel up on melomakarona and kourampiedes, the traditional sweets of the season, while your little ones queue up for the Ice Rink, the hula hoop games or any of the many festive activities that will be taking place as part of the centre's Christmas World programme. Think you can squeeze in a cocktail at the Lighthouse's 360° pop-up bar before the live concerts start? Go for it, it's definitely worth it.
As midnight approaches, the real fun begins. This year's big open-air party at the SNFCC starts at 10.30pm with Greek-African revelation Idra Kayne and her 10-piece band, who will usher in the New Year to the sounds of soul, funk, R&B and hip-hop, accompanied by spectacular fireworks.
At four minutes past midnight, you'll either be lacing up for the SNF First Run 2024 or for Bill Brewster's selection of bangers. The British DJ, co-founder of London's renowned Fabric nightclub, author of the definitive history of DJing, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, and overall music industry legend, is this year's star guest of the SNFCC, who will keep the Athenians dancing into the early hours of 2024.
