Plásmata: Bodies, Dreams, and Data
Following last year’s very successful and loved You and Ai exhibition at Pedion Areos Park, Onassis Stegi returns to one of Athens’ largest public parks with Plásmata: Bodies, Dreams, and Data. “Do you know who you are? Can you dream? Can you breathe?” Not the simplest of questions to be asked on a sunny stroll with the fam, but that’s what you’ll get when you come across the several creature-like (plasmata = creatures in Greek) digital installations around the park. Twenty-five international pieces, to be exact, as well as 40 solar batteries that will be collecting energy to create an artificial moon, and a huge red planet. Already worth the visit in our books. Add a dreamlike metaverse vs reality approach and you got yourself a proper mind-boggling reason to pause at a shady bench at Pedion Areos Park.
Update: The exhibition just got an upgrade: a series of talks with internationally acclaimed speakers, an online conference and DJ sets and live music performances with free entrance have been added to Plásmata's programme. Follow the links for more info.
