POST. Rethink The Future
Living in the moment. It’s not an easy motto to go by anymore, when what’s current has already gone stale. Rather, this is the era of what comes next. Still, while we are definitely not in post-pandemic times, and already in Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta dream, this very day is the only one we have.
In this time of constant change and upheaval, which borrows shamelessly from the past while stepping already into the future, the Blender Gallery and curator Francesco Piazza bring together four artists who share similar techniques: they manipulate their raw materials (sketching, painting, advertisement scraps, and old photographs) into time-bending pieces, where past, present, and future conflate in thought-provoking artworks.
The white space of Valentina Biasetti’s kintsugi-inspired mixed media artworks, evoking the sense of a fragmented past and future; Demetrio Di Grado’s maximalist blend of collage and street art (you can clock his impressive murals in the Gazi area); Alexandros Maganiotis’ post-folklore hand-drawn alphabet; and Konstantinos Patsios’ pop art collage frenzy imbued with darker, political tones… They all co-exist in dialogue on the walls of Blender Gallery.
With the exhibition running until the end of April, why not grab the opportunity for a seaside stroll in Glyfada?
