Release Athens Festival 2024: Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson & Accept
Metalheads, this one's for you. Water Plaza is going to shake under the weight of metal legends. Making their way to Palio Faliro's summer concert haven are the mighty Judas Priest and the iconic Bruce Dickinson, frontman of Iron Maiden.
Hailed as the "gods of metal", Judas Priest have been a monumental force in the scene since their formation in 1969. With classics such as British Steel and Painkiller, their influence on the genre is undeniable. Their performance will feature all their greatest hits, as well as songs from their forthcoming album, in what will be the band’s biggest stage set-up to date.
Bruce Dickinson will bring his energy and soaring vocals to the stage. Known for his work with Iron Maiden as well as his solo career, Dickinson recently released The Mandrake Project, his first solo album in 18 years. So, next to Maiden classics, expect to hear some new stuff as well.
This is usually the part where a concert line-up features a smaller or upcoming band. Not the case here. Joining Judas Priest and Dickinson for the day are German metal pioneers Accept, who have influenced everyone from Metallica to Slayer. With a career spanning almost five decades and hits such as Balls to the Wall, they continue to be a powerful force in the metal world—their latest work, Too Mean To Die, is a testament to that.
As per usual, Release offers multi-ticket options. For example, you can pair a Judas Priest day with that of Megadeth or Behemoth, or attend all three with a 3-day ticket at a discounted price. Not bad at all!
