Release Athens Festival 2024: Megadeth, Blind Guardian & Grand Magus

Athens, get ready to join the mosh pit. Release Athens proudly welcomes Megadeth at the seaside venue of Water Plaza which is to become the epicentre of metal madness. Led by the legendary Dave Mustaine, these thrash titans, one of the Big Four of metal, have been shaping the heavy sound landscape for the last 40 years and they're coming back to Greece to deliver a show packed with their greatest anthems. Expect head-banging hits such as Hangar 18, Symphony of Destruction and Peace Sells as Mustaine and his crew tear through their storied catalogue. Mustaine, having triumphed over throat cancer, is more energetic than ever, ensuring an explosive performance.

Joining Megadeth are the masters of progressive power metal Blind Guardian. Known for their epic storytelling and majestic melodies, these German legends will transport you to another realm with classics such as Nightfall in Middle-Earth and new tracks from their latest album, The God Machine.

Kicking off the night are the heavy-hitting Grand Magus from Sweden. Blending stoner rock and doom metal, they'll set the stage on fire and get your adrenaline pumping from the first riff.
