Ring in the New Year at Syntagma Square

This festive season, Athens transforms into a sparkling wonderland with Christmas in Athens: A Fairytale Comes to Life, a city-wide celebration running from November 28 to January 10. The city’s squares and landmarks are illuminated (with energy-efficient lighting, ofcourse) and every Athenian neighbourhood gets in on the yuletide action with free events for all tastes and ages, including Christmas-themed concerts, open-air film screenings, kids activities and more.

This year, Syntagma Square sets the stage for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration with The Rooftop of Foivos. Renowned Greek singer-songwriter Foivos Delivorias, joined by entekhno (think of it as the Greek fado) powerhouse Natassa Bofiliou, versatile actor and performer Thanasis Alevras, multifaceted artist Martha Frintzila, a grand orchestra, dancers, and rising stars, takes us on a musical and theatrical journey through Athens' history.

From 1945 to 2025, this time-traveling extravaganza unfolds through songs, dances, stunning projections, and humorous theatrical moments. The night kicks off with the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra, setting the tone for a dazzling evening of celebration.
