Summer Triangle
Seventeen light years away in our starry skies lie the constellations of Lyra, Swan, and the Eagle, forming the radiant Summer Triangle. Luckily, Thalatta.art’s latest exhibition won’t have you travelling that far as they bring their very own Summer Triangle to the heart of Athens, featuring three (hence the triangle part) contemporary visual artists.
Constantine Tzepras’ fresh take on ancient Greek and Byzantine art greets visitors upon their entrance to the gallery space. Tzepras blends old techniques with modern themes to create bold and textured pieces that draw on myths and everyday life as a commentary on today's world. One level down, in the gallery’s underground space, you'll find Mirel Gjolena’s striking pieces that explore themes of loss and human struggle. Gjolena uses coal to create dramatic portraits with a delicate balance of light and shadow. Lastly, in the gallery’s loft, Panagiotis Gritzos presents his latest creations. After a period of introspection, Gritzos has returned with a vibrant body of work that looks at the relationship between the material and the spiritual worlds.
