Greek National Opera: Swan Lake
Konstantinos Rigos’ thrilling new spin on ballet’s most famous tale is classical dance for the “Black Swan” age. By popular demand, the Greek National Opera Ballet reprises his modern and other-worldly re-imagining of Tchaikovsky’s tumultuous tragedy "Swan Lake" for a limited run at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre this festive season. Rigos recasts Prince Siegfried and the evil wizard Rothbart as contrasting aspects of the Prince’s psyche, with the epic struggle between good and evil, madness and sanity, taking place entirely inside his mind. Meanwhile, his dancers have been transported to an apocalyptic landscape of a dried lake, with new choreography set against the original. Don't miss this stunning seasonal spectacle at one of the most Christmass-y venues in town.
