Bollywood & Multicultural Dance Festival

Not enough rebetika in town in early July, you say? Well, the greek blues are mostly a winter soundtrack, and switching things up is a very Athenian thing to do. How about a Bollywood extravaganza instead? The 8th Bollywood & Multicultural Dance Festival takes over the Dora Stratou Theatre at Philopappou for a weekend of music, dancing, mystery and charm in early July. We're talking workshops (14 in total!) in various dance styles such as Traditional Bollywood, Indian-Contemporary Fusion, Odissi Dance, Bhangra, Bollywood Fusion, Bolly Blast and more, taught by local and international artists, and a dance competition (amateurs and professionals, solo and group.) There will also be a mini bazaar and food kiosks serving up Indian delicacies during the whole weekend. Don't miss out on the two highlight events of the festival that will feature a plethora of dance styles from all over the world as well as exclusive choreographies from Greece's first Bollywood Dance Academy. Mingle with the belly crowds beforehand by checking into the opening party on Friday July 1st at the Antika Rock Cafe Bar.
