Euripides Laskaridis: Lapis Lazuli - OSMOSIS
Euripides Laskaridis takes the Main Stage of Onassis Stegi with his latest work, Lapis Lazuli. Renowned for pushing the boundaries of theatre, dance, and visual arts, Laskaridis weaves together the grotesque, the comedic, and the terrifying in a performance that follows the success of his previous plays, which have toured the globe.
The artist presents an international co-production that promises to be both captivating and enigmatic. Inspired by the metamorphic rock Lapis Lazuli (often referred to as the "Stone from Heaven” known for its unpredictable behaviour under pressure,) the work explores the human relationship with fear and terror, delving into intriguing dualities such as the material and the spiritual, the dreamlike and the nightmarish. Laskaridis weaves a dense web of antitheses on stage, and as the audience is plunged into a world where the sublime meets the absurd, he once again showcases his knack for crafting enigmatic and utterly compelling pieces.
