Athens Photo World
Keep your eyes alive from now until June 16. Some of Athens’ most walked streets and public buildings will become giant frames as the first Athens Photo World turns its lens on reflecting daily life around the planet. Locals and visitors to the city will come face to face every evening with talking point images by Greek and international photojournalists, enlarged and projected without any timetable. Look out for them around Syntagma Square, Gazi Technopolis, the Athens University and the railings of the National Garden. The inaugural event is dedicated to the late award-winning photojournalist Yannis Behrakis and you can also check out 70 of his most gripping photographs in an exhibition at the National Library of Greece. Athens Photo World applauds the efforts of photojournalists in documenting our big moments of history and in shaping how we see the world.
