Crete—Emerging Cities: Aptera, Eleutherna, Knossos
Three ancient cities of Crete—abandoned and largely forgotten - are re-awakened for the modern observer. In this engrossing exhibition around 500 artifacts (some newly excavated) are being presented to the public for the first time. Some of the displays relate to the cities’ founding myths, their religious beliefs and public lives. Others are dedicated to personal stories such as a child from Knossos buried with his toys.
