Kallithea Half Marathon

We don’t mean to brag, but marathons are kind of our thing. If you like the poetic appeal of challenging yourself to a half-marathon in the land that gave birth to them, get your name down for the Kallithea Half Marathon. This new event has the added bonus of a scenic route that takes runners along the Athenian seafront, around the state of the art Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre Park, for a grand finish at Plaza Nerou (Water Plaza). Not feeling Forrest Gump-ish enough to go the whole distance? There’s also a 5k event; relay races of 2x10.5k and 4x5.2k; and a 1k race for kids. Part of the day’s proceeds will be donated to charitable organisations in support of social issues. You can register through the official event website or at the Filathlitikos Sports Association offices at the Municipal Stadium of Kallithea, daily from 17.00 to 19.30.
