Release Athens Festival 2022: Sabaton & Blind Guardian, Epica, Enemy of Reality, Silent Rage
Headbanging while taking history lessons. Sounds weird, but stay with us. Swedish power metalheads Sabaton pen songs dedicated to heroes and freedom fighters. Their lyrics often follow, or are based on, historical events such as Greece’s ‘Ohi Day’ making every listener “feel patriotic for countries they weren't born in”, to quote a very accurate YouTube comment. No wonder there's been an army of fans following the band for the last 17 years. Greeks and visitors can shout their Ohis at Release Festival when Sabaton take the stage on the same day as progressive metal masters Blind Guardian and Dutch symphonic metal titans Epica.
