Lesbian Feminist Film Festival

Not just one but three days of films focusing on the lesbian* experience will take place during the Lesbian Feminist Film Festival which is organised by Lesbians on the Verge. Watch films and documentaries, some screened for the first time in Greece, most directed by women who present diverse experiences from various regions around the world. The programme includes films spanning from early 20th century to recent productions: from Filibus, a 1915 silent film which can be described as gender-bending science fiction, to Rafiki (2018) from Kenya—the country’s first film to be presented at the Cannes Film Festival—as well as the 2022 Spanish romantic comedy Girlfriends and Girlfriends.

Lesbians on the Verge is a new self-organised initiative, responsible for the first Lesbian Feminist Festival in Athens last September as well as for parties, discussions and other events throughout the year. They use lesbian* as an umbrella term for all people who feel represented by this identity.
